Phillip's Story

My whole life started when I was seven years old. That’s when I started to smoke, drink, and hang out with the homies. I have learned life the hard way; it wasn’t easy. I had to witness a lot of things to learn what I know – like deaths, stabbings, shootings, overdoses, suicides, drug abuse, and growing up without my parents. I know I am not the only one going through bad things or running in gangs; that’s why I am writing this – to show people that there is a way out of it. Also, that you can use the bad things that happened in your life and change it all into positive. So I hope you like my story and I also hope that you get something out of it.

Everything in my story really happened. I want to apologize to anyone who has lost their parents, friends, children, or anyone close to them either to gang violence, drugs, or anything else. I have lost many family members, friends and homies to gangs and drugs so I know how it feels. Just know that there are people out there who are willing ot help you and know exactly what you are going through. I didn’t believe it, but I met a lot of people who I can talk to now and know what I am feeling and probably know what you are feeling. All I am saying is there are people who care and want to help...
